Plasma and LCD Installation

Above a fireplace?

If the fireplace mantelpiece deflects the heat away then yes it should be fine. However we recommend that with all installations that involve being placed above a fireplace that you call us to discuss and arrange a site visit from one of our team.

Plasterboard Wall?

Yes the majority of our installations we do are on stud partition walls. With the right bracket and the right fixings there is no limit to the size of the TV screen.

Plasma or LCD?

Plasma TVs can present moving objects without loss of crispness or detail. Plasma technology needs only one impulse per pixel to produce an image therefore its response time is almost instantaneous.

LCD technology requires pixels to go from active – to inactive -and back to active again, to achieve a single response cycle; their response time can measure anywhere between 4 milliseconds to and 25 milliseconds. Even the fastest LCD screens can suffer with some degree of movement blurring.

For more information contact D.A.S who will go into more detail about the pros and cons.

Satellite and Aerials

Do I need a digital aerial?

If you are using one of the old analogue aerials, you will probably have difficulty receiving certain Digital channels, get problems with poor signal strengths, or pixilation (when the picture breaks up into squares). All these problems will usually be resolved by upgrading to a new aerial which has been specifically designed for reception of Digital channels. We can supply and install the most suitable type of Digital aerial, test for signal strength and retune all your equipment, all for a very competitive fixed price.

I live in an area where I have restricted access, is it still possible to have a satellite system installed?

If you live in a flat, or where you share facilities then you will need to gain permission from the owner of the property to have it installed on the roof, or chimney stack.

Will fitting an aerial or sky system mean a lot of wires through my home?

We will always agree how the cables are to be run with the customer before we start and in most cases unsightly cables can be hidden.
